One week from this Saturday the dress drive will be in full effect! We have been working tirelessly trying to get everything sorted and organized as well as spreading the word and collecting donations. Last week we went in on Wednesday during and after school and got a lot done. We have everything on size racks and started to color coordinate. A couple extra students came in with us, and it was a huge help, a lot was done in a short amount of time. The next major step is switching some of the dresses onto different hangers. We ran out of sturdy and "nicer" hangers, so we used what we had but now are waiting on the new hangers to arrive. There are also a couple of racks that we are going to switch out for new ones that we received. Once that is finished, we will be pretty close to ready and just have to start making sure everything is finished in an orderly fashion. During class Rylie, Lydia, and I have posted our flyers around the school and communicating with Mrs. Pratt about making sure everything is getting done that needs to be done. Mrs. Clayton has sent out e-mails to National Honor Society to get volunteers to help during the event. Mrs. Penrod also is going to send out a form for volunteers to her Spanish National Honor Society. We had planned on going out to local businesses and asking to hang up our flyers as well as going to the junior high and keep sorting dresses this week, but weather permitting that might not happen. If we don't get anything done this week, we will have to go as much as we can next week to ensure everything is ready to go. One week away until the dress drive goes live!

We have been very busy over here in the dress world and time is flying by. The big event is less than one month away and there is still tons to do. I think we have officially finished receiving donations from boutiques and all of the dresses are at the junior high waiting to be organized. Sophia's Prom and Bridal in Southport kindly donated around 10-15 gorgeous new dresses along with a big stack of discount cards they thought would be good to hand out to anyone who does not find their dress. Along with accepting donations, we have also been updating and fixing our fliers that we had originally made. Mrs. Pratt had given us a couple changes that we needed to make such as adding the Riley Hospital sticker, epic indoor garage sale, as well as adding a couple additions to the donation flyer. Posted below are our final projects. Mrs. Pratt and Mrs. Hurst are going to distribute these around the community and schools and we will hang them up here around the high school to advertise. Lydia, Rylie, and I have been working hard over at NPJH unboxing, organizing, and getting all of the dresses in order. This takes a lot more work than you would imagine, as both rooms were total disasters. We have all the dresses organized by size on the racks, therefore going forward we need to color coordinate and still put dresses on the correct size racks that we just unboxed. Next week we plan to go over to the school a couple times because there is still much to do and it is less than a month away!
